Augustiner is a lager and pale lager brand from Munich, Germany.
Augustiner-Bräu has brewed in Munich since 1328, when Augustinian monks started a brewery at their monastery, making it the oldest brewery in the city. It is still independent, with most of the company held by a charitable foundation, and it is famous for spending next to nothing on advertising. Its Lagerbier Hell, in the brown bottle with the green label, is something of a Munich institution.
