Chimay is a Belgian ale brand from Chimay, Belgium, founded in 1862.
Monks settled on the Scourmont plateau near Chimay in 1850 and were brewing by 1862. Scourmont is one of only a handful of Trappist abbeys, and the brewery still funds the abbey and local good causes. The coloured caps (Red, Blue, Gold, Triple) have become a shorthand for Belgian abbey beer worldwide.
