Red Stripe is a pale lager brand from Kingston, Jamaica.
Red Stripe comes from Desnoes & Geddes, a Kingston company founded in 1918 that began brewing in the late 1920s; the lager recipe followed in 1938. It is famous for its short, dumpy stubby bottle. Heineken took control of the business in 2015 and moved production for North America back to Jamaica.
