Trappistes Rochefort is a Belgian ale brand from Rochefort, Belgium.
The Abbey of Notre-Dame de Saint-Rémy near Rochefort was founded in 1230, and the first records of brewing there date from 1595. The monks rebuilt the brewery after returning in 1887 and began selling beer in 1910. The numbers on the bottles come from an old Belgian measure of strength, not the ABV.
